FEATURED PROJECT: Williams Creek Bridge Replacement
Williams Creek Bridge Replacement
In order to continue to serve as a critical transportation link, the Federal Highway Administration determined that the previous Shoup Bridge (a 60-year old, single-lane concrete & steel structure) would be replaced with a two-lane, single-span network-arch structure made entirely from weathering steel.
Fabricated by Thompson Metal Fab, the two-lane arch bridge is 224’ long, about 40’ wide, approximately 40’ tall, and weighs nearly 344,500 lbs. The bridge is being fabricated to AISC & AWS D1.5 standards and features fracture critical members.
Highlights
-Our large facility’s extensive bridge cranes allowed us to handle the nearly 100’ long curved members and test fit them on custom fixtures prior to shipping.
-The zinc, epoxy, and urethane coatings were applied in house via TMF’s dedicated paint bay.
